Hi again and thanks for your feedback so far.

I talked to our dev teams again:

We were able to identify the root cause in connection with an update to our backend systems that had the unwanted side effect that a lot of our users were not able to connect.

The issue has been resolved and we make sure that this will not happen again.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Im trying to connect my home laptop to my home desktop and it says:

"Version out-of-date: Update the remote TeamViewer

The remote teamviewer is running an old version which is out of date.

Therefore you cannot connect to this version anymore"

However - I have just downloaded and installed the latest versions on both my home machine and laptop and i still get the same error message?...

I can connect my home desktop to my laptop but not laptop to desktop....

    Hello @Topps999,

When you go to Help About TeamViewer, what is the TeamViewer version you can see on both devices?

    Hi,

I managed to sort my issue out, the Teamviewer was running on my other desktop not the one that had the latest version installed so i updated and it worked fine. - Also renamed them both so i didnt get them confused again.

I'm getting errors as of this morning stating that any client I attempt to connect to is out-of-date. I've verified all clients are using the latest Teamviewer. This is happening both to and from multiple different PCs. I've restarted TV clients on all machines but the error persists.

  • response is, running old version cannot connect, from all remotes even ones that are latest update?

    Hallo,

ich versuche mich gerade mal wieder über Teamviewer mit dem Rechner meiner Mutter zu verbinden, leider mit dem Resultat

"The remote TeamViewer is running an old version which is out of date. [...] Your connection partner can update TeamViewer by clicking on Help/Check for new version"

Wir haben allerdings beide auf die Version 15.15.5 upgedatet und danach beide den PC neu gestartet, trotzdem bleibt die Fehlermeldung.

    Hat jemand eine Erklärung hierfür?

    Hello,

Please, I'm getting this message: The remote TeamViewer is running an old version that is out of date, therefore you cannot connect to this version anymore...

Both versions are up to date, and I even uninstalled both versions and reinstalled them again and they're running the latest version but I'm still getting this message!! Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thank You!

  • Hi. Im trying to connect to remote pc. But it keeps saying "The remote TW is running an old version"

We have installed the latest version on all pcs, but still get this message??

    Please help.

  • Good morning when connecting I receive the advice that I cannot connect as the version is old, so without connecting to my computer how do I update?

Same problem here. Connections worked fine yesterday (24th Feb).

    Both ends were on 15.14.5

Updating both ends to 15.15.5 does not resolve the issue.

What connection diagnostics would assist investigation and resolution? Below is the Teamviewer load log details - not error reports therein.

    Correction:

The above I experienced yesterday, Today the other way round does'nt work either.

Just today I've noticed that TeamViewer (free personal version on my network) won't connect to any other computer repeatedly saying the same thing where the computer I'm attempting to connect to allegedly has an old version of TeamViewer and cannot connect.

I've only noticed this when the one I'm trying to connect to is significantly older but today it is happening when both are the same version.

They are both up to date and I don't need to check. I did though and found no updates as expected. I also removed each one, rebooted the PC and then re-installed and found the same error.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I also have the same problem. I updated the TeamViewer version to 15.15.5 on all the computers, I even installed a brand new teamviewer to my mum's computer to try to connect with it and I still get the message "The remote TeamViewer is running an old version".

Teamviewer worked just fine before this update

  • Hi..

I tried to connect to a remote device and I got the "cannot connect to older version error", even though none of the two devices had been updated recently and yesterday it worked. I updated both devices to the latest version 15 just to be sure and tried again. I'm still getting the exact same error even though both devices have the same version. The remote device I want to connect to is running 15.15.5 in Ubuntu and I have 15.14.5 in Windows 10.

    Same problem here.

My and the remote's version is 15.5.5, but I get the version-out-of-date popup:

I first had this this morning when I was still running 15.14.5, so I upgraded, but the problem remains.

Strange thing is that I have been working with this remote last night, and successfully connected through several remote restarts, and all of a sudden connection fails this morning...

I can no longer contact any of my remotes...
