Imagine you're working from home and need to join a Microsoft Teams meeting that's only available on your office workstation. The meeting invitation is there, the application is already running there, and everything you need for the call lives on that remote device. But your microphone and camera are sitting on the laptop in front of you.
With TeamViewer Tensor's audio and video forwarding, you can use your local microphone and camera directly within the remote session, allowing you to join meetings and collaborate naturally as if you were sitting at the remote computer.
Bring your voice and camera wherever you work
Audio and video forwarding helps you:
- Join meetings and use communication apps on a remote device with your local microphone and camera.
- Create a more natural remote work experience without requiring audio or video peripherals on the remote machine.
- Stay productive by keeping all your work, tools, and communications within a single remote session.
- Choose which local microphone and camera you want to share with the remote device.
- Get started quickly with automatic installation of the required virtual devices when the feature is enabled.
Get connected in just a few clicks
- Start an Easy Access connection to a supported remote device.
- In the session toolbar, enable audio forwarding, video forwarding, or both.
- If needed, TeamViewer Tensor automatically installs the required virtual drivers on the remote device.
- Open your meeting or communication application on the remote computer.
- Select the TeamViewer virtual microphone and/or camera within the application.
- Begin using your local audio and video devices through the remote session.
An everyday example
Sarah is working from home and connected to her office workstation through TeamViewer Tensor. Later in the day, she needs to join an important customer meeting. The invitation, meeting software, company credentials, and supporting documents she needs are all available on her office computer, so joining from her personal laptop isn't ideal.
Without audio and video forwarding, Sarah would need to switch between devices, move files around, or find another way to connect her webcam and microphone to a computer she isn't physically using.
Instead, she enables audio and video forwarding directly in her TeamViewer session. When the meeting starts on her office workstation, the remote device recognizes Sarah's laptop microphone and webcam as if they were connected locally. She can participate in the call, share updates, collaborate with colleagues, and access the information she needs without ever leaving her remote workspace.
The result is a smoother meeting experience that helps her stay productive, connected, and focused, no matter where she's working from.
