I have an existing TeamViewer account that I’ve used for personal/non-commercial use for a long time. It uses a regular non-Gmail email address, a TeamViewer password, and I have two-factor authentication enabled.
On August 27th, I was suddenly logged out of TeamViewer across multiple computers.
Since then:
● My normal account password, which I believe is correct, is no longer accepted.
● The login does not get as far as asking me for my 2FA code.
● I have requested a password reset numerous times, but no password-reset email arrives.
● I have checked spam/junk and mail filtering.
● This occurred on the same day as the TeamViewer service outage reported on the status page.
As an additional test, I tried creating a completely separate new TeamViewer account using “Continue with Google” and a different email address. TeamViewer returned:
“We don’t recognize this sign-in method. Please sign in using the method you used to create your account.”
That Google address was NOT the address of my original TeamViewer account and I was trying to create a new account.
I then tried creating another new account using “Continue with Apple,” and that worked successfully. I am posting from that newly created account.
Could a TeamViewer moderator/support representative please check the status of my original account?
In particular, could you check:
1. Whether the original account has been locked, disabled, suspended, or otherwise put into an abnormal state.
2. Whether TeamViewer is actually generating password-reset messages for the account.
3. Whether those messages are bouncing or the email address has been placed on an outbound-mail suppression list.
4. Whether the email address or authentication method associated with the account has changed.
5. Whether today’s service incident caused the account’s sessions or authentication state to be reset.
thanks
