Hey @Dries De Schepper, Thanks for your follow up and additional information.
I verify your case internally with our support teams: Accounts created via social accounts (from Microsoft, Google, and Apple), have limited functionality which includes not being able to manage 2FA.
To solve the problem, the recommendation is to delete your current account and recreate it direct with TeamViewer.
I thank you for your patience and understanding. Please share with us how it goes, and do not hesitate to ask for further help if needed. Best, Carol
Hi Carol,
Thank you. I tested the collapse handle and expanded the sidebar successfully. The Profile section only shows Account, Licenses, Active sign-ins, Connection reports and Customization—there is still no Authentication or two-factor authentication page.
I also checked Admin settings. An Authentication section is listed there, but all management options are disabled because this is a free account.
This is a free Apple-linked account. I can sign in and the existing authenticator still works, but I cannot manage 2FA or generate a replacement recovery code.
Could you provide the supported procedure for regenerating the 2FA recovery code on a free Apple-linked account, or confirm whether TeamViewer must migrate or unlink the account first?
Hey @Dries De Schepper, Thank you so much for the detailed explanation with the images - it helps a lot!
Share with us how it goes, we're looking forward to your reply! Best, Carol
Quick update: I can now successfully sign in to web.teamviewer.com on my iPhone.
However, in Settings → Account/Profile settings, there is still no Authentication tab. I checked the page from top to bottom. I’ve attached screenshots showing the available settings.
The mobile web UI also appears to have a significant responsiveness issue, with content overflowing horizontally and labels wrapping incorrectly.
According to the TeamViewer documentation, an Authentication tab should be available in the profile settings. Could you please check whether its absence is related to my Apple-linked account or an account/UI issue?
As additional context, account.teamviewer.com also intermittently returned a 403 when using Continue with Apple, although I can now access web.teamviewer.com.
I tested this again using the TeamViewer web/account portal on my iPhone. My TeamViewer account is linked through Sign in with Apple.
When I select Continue with Apple, the login fails immediately with:“Request failed with status code 403.”
Because of this, I cannot access the account settings at all and therefore cannot check whether the Authentication tab is available.
I’ve attached a screenshot and the log generated by the TeamViewer login page. The log shows:
Could you please confirm whether this is a known issue with Apple-linked TeamViewer accounts or the mobile web login, and escalate the 403 authentication error if necessary?
I can also test this from a desktop browser if that would help.
Hi @Dries De Schepper, Welcome and thanks for reaching out to our Community!
After activating 2FA on your account, it's only possible to see the recovery code through the Authentication tab in Settings:
If you can't see the Authentication tab, could you send us more details, and if possible, a screenshot? Are you using the full TeamViewer client, the web client, or the TeamViewer Remote mobile app? We look forward to your reply. 🙂 Best, Carol
