Hello,
I am unable to assign TeamViewer Host on a Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 running Android 14 to my TeamViewer account.
Device: Samsung Galaxy XCover 5
Android: 14
TeamViewer Host: 15.81.236 HM
Account: Free
The Host app reports that the email address or password is incorrect when I try to assign the device.
However, I have verified that the credentials are correct. I can successfully log in to TeamViewer Web with the same account and password on the same XCover 5.
I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled TeamViewer Host and granted the required permissions, including Samsung Knox, notifications, alarms/reminders, and permission to display over other apps.
The Host can communicate with TeamViewer's servers, but authentication fails. With advanced logging enabled, the log shows:
AccountLogin::HandleChallenge: Try V3Login
AuthenticateAccountSrpVerifyError::ResponseErrorHandler(): IdentificationFailed
AccountLogin::Error: Authentication failed with error 24 of category 2
LocalAccountAssignmentV2ViewModel: Login failed with error id: 5
I receive no Trusted Device approval request, and the log shows no CAPTCHA or network error.
Could you please explain what IdentificationFailed / error 24 category 2 means in TeamViewer Host 15.81.236 and how I can successfully assign this Android Host to my account?
I also have the Host log files from immediately after reproducing the problem if they are needed.
Kind regards,
Torgny Säker
