Easy access option is grayed out on my desktop. Unable to fix that. I have Windows 11 Pro

Everytime I want to connect remotely from my laptop I need the password from my desktop. Can somebody help me? I am new to Teamviewer I need to use it because I need to travel for a long period of time and I need to work remotely. Would it be easier if I go back to regular Windows 11 or do I need the Pro to be able to connect remotely?

Your first statement is correct. Whenever you try to connect from your laptop to your remote desktop, you need the password (or PIN, if you're using Windows Hello) to sign on to your desktop, just as if you were sitting in front of it. That's normal.

The version of Windows doesn't make a difference on either end; it can be Win-10 or Win-11, Home or Pro. Lots of advanced personal users use Pro.

If you have a free license, you need to be aware of one very significant limitation. The license does not allow you to "work remotely". The "commercial use" algorithm in the free version will block you if it detects any commercial-class WiFi or Ethernet connection to the internet. Essentially all hotels, coffee shops, libraries, etc. use commercial-class networks. Once you are blocked even once, you must ask Team Viewer to reset your Device IDs to free status using this form: https://www.teamviewer.com/en-us/special/reset-management/. The easiest way to work around this limitation is to connect your laptop via a hotspot on your personal cellphone when you are in any establishment with a commercial-class network. I do that a lot, and it works well for me.

It may seem excessive (or mean) of Team Viewer to forbid using the free product in any commercial establishment, even if all you're doing is retrieving personal files from your personal desktop at your house. The problem is that the "commercial use" algorithm in the free product can't tell what you're actually doing on the connection. It can't tell the difference between personal activities and job-related activities. It can't sniff data packets without violating privacy/data-collection/spyware regulations, so all it can do is look around in the PCs at each end to see if it can detect a "commercial environment". The free license requires dedicated personal PCs (or mobile devices) and residential-class internet connections. You can't even use a work computer during lunch to help your elderly parents with their Windows computer. ANYTHING that indicates a commercial environment ("work") blocks the connection until it is reset by Team Viewer.
