Hi Content Creators,
Our Knowledge Base and our articles are getting more and more attention :-)
To have very professional articles with easy to understand content, we are are creating differnet strategies for the content creation. We are starting with a Screenshot Guideline to have great and high quality screenshots.
Please have a look at our new Screenshot Guideline
Technical basics:
- Please use an up to date operating system such as Windows 10
- Enable all graphical improvements
- Please use a standard Windows background image (no custom images). Same for macOS.
- For Windows, make sure to use to default Personalization settings for Accent color, etc. (see http://wiki/marketing/SiteAssets/default-color-settings-for-screenshots.png)
- Please use Greenshot (http://getgreenshot.org/) to get exact screenshots. For Windows, always include the blue "pixel border" of the application window
- Try to make screenshots in the same size
- Use a smaller resolution from Desktop Screenshots
TeamViewer Fake IDs
- It is not allowed to show real IDs (both for TeamViewer IDs and Meeting IDs): Use the Greenshot Editor or Photoshop to insert fake IDs or blur IDs
- Use these fake IDs 123 456 789 and Partner ID: 987 654 321
- It is not allowed to show any real e-mail addresses
- Please make all connections via the Computers & Contacts list.
Content
- make a screenshot of the relevant content and focus on that. Hide non-relevant parts.
- make clear screenshots with the correct content (no errormessages, if you don´t want to show an error message)
- activate a TeamViewer-license to avoid notifications like "trial expired", "free use" etc. (exeption: If you need to point out the behaviour of an unlicensed TeamViewer)
- If you want to point out to a specific part of the screenshot, please use a red border (Greenshot Editor: line strenghs 5, HTML-color: Red, shadow on)
Browser Screenshots
- Please Use the Browser "Edge" for all Screenshots, where the Tabs are visible
- Standard size: 1024x768 (Use the following commend in the URL line: "javascript:resizeTo(1024,768)")
- If the window needs more space: Change the size accordingly
- use "good looking" URLs: https://community.teamviewer.com instead of https://community.teamviewer.com/t5/TeamViewer-Community/ct-p/en
- Hide all bookmarks line and use "clean" browsers with no customization
- Use just one open tab
- ENGLISH ONLY
Save
- Save in .png (if you are using Photoshop: use extra layers for changes and save as .png)
- use useful namings: short, lower case letters and -, without spaces
- Save your screenshots in the shared box Folder for Knowledge Base Screenshots
- The plan is to create a hub for screenshots, so that we can re-use the screenshots
Thank you all,
Esther
