The customized module must be used on the endpoint machine. If you are a private user, you need to use a module from our website, not a customized one.
You can install a TeamViewer client or Quick support on the endpoint machine from the below link.

Thanks, we are both on Macs. Do I need to reinstall or my friend? I can connect to other machines no problem so I assume my friend? What is direct link he needs to install? He already tried reinstalling.

Either the full client or Quick support needs to be installed on your friend machine in this situation.
