How can i see as administrator , which user is using the aviable channel(s) ?And can i discconect the active connection ?
Hi everyone, We’re happy to share some great news: TeamViewer now offers the Active Connections feature, giving authorized users real-time visibility into ongoing connections involving company users.
You can now manage all your active connections more efficiently by viewing them via the Active Connections view, and you can terminate ongoing sessions as an authorized user, providing greater visibility and control over remote activity. Over the years, many of you have shared feedback and suggestions around viewing and managing ongoing TeamViewer sessions. To bring all this valuable feedback and the latest updates together in one place, we’ve merged the related discussions and comments into this thread. To learn more about what’s new, check out our latest New Feature Spotlight:Manage Active Connections more efficiently with TeamViewer For detailed information about requirements, permissions, setup, and usage, please refer to our Knowledge Base article:Active Connections The feedback and use cases you’ve shared have helped us better understand your needs and continue improving our services. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the discussion! If you have any questions or would like to share your experience with Active Connections, feel free to leave a comment below. Best,
Jen
Is there a PowerShell script to check if TeamViewer host has an active connection? I have some Kiosk devices where I would like an automated script to remove TeamViewer if there is no active connection
@Ying_Q
If the ID has to be saved to my contact list then the usefulness of this is very limited. I am an admin of the system that has multiple users each doing their thing. I oversee the system but there is no reason to expect me to be the one remoting into each of the systems. It makes no sense for me to add every single computer to my contact list when these are listed in the various groups that we setup. The ID should reference the Alias or Username that is in the system.
I have no idea why the ability to copy/paste the ID is blocked.
A related issue is that as the Admin I should be able to see every computer and every group. I should not need whoever created it to add me. I cannot properly manage a system that I only have limited access to. This is the basic definition of an Admin.
Hello @bcatoe,
Thank you for pinging me for the discussion.
I am sorry to hear about your frustration with the channel usage. If the ID search can't link to any user account or computer name, it tells us that most likely the ID has not been saved to your contact list.
For further discussion on the channel usage, we strongly recommend contacting Customer support | TeamViewer for direct assistance.
Best,
Ying_Q
@Ying_Q Yes and no. I can do a right-click, about and get the list of current channel uses. BUT, it displays a Teamviewer ID rather than something more helpful like user or computer name. I can't copy/paste the ID (no idea why that is blocked) and search the ID…but nothing comes back under devices or contacts. How is this supposed to work?
So, this post is from 2017 and we, as administrators, still cannot force a disconnect? And how hard would it be to display the user name rather than just the ID. I can't copy/paste the ID (why block that ability?)…so I take a screenshot of it, then I search…yeah, nothing under Devices, Groups, Contacts.
I have the same question: When my team report the "All channels in use" error I want to check who is using it so I can prioritise channel use. Apparently, the old TV used to allow this in the "About TeamViewer" pop up under help…but not anymore.
Hello Ying_Q,
Thank you for the response! That did help me to see how many licneses are in use. Is there a way to remotely close an open connection from here?

Hi @choctaw1,
Thank you for sharing the question with us in the Community!
It is possible to check the current session on your license on TeamViewer by Channel use. It is found under About TeamViewer, where you can right-click on the TeamViewer icon within the system tray, and the licensed TeamViewer account also needed to be signed in.
Can you take a quick look and see if you are able to check it out on your TeamViewer? Hope to hear from you!
Is there a way to see all current active connections on your license?
Is there an answer to this question ?
Sorry, thats not a helpful answer.
The scenario is this:
1) One of my team members complains that they can’t connect to a PC due to a “All channels are in use” error.
2) My first thought is “I need a list of all team members that are currently using a channel, so I can make sure they havent left a session open inadvertently”.
How do I get a list of all users currently using a channel?
This should be an easy thing to do. Unless of course, TeamViewer wants to make it hard / impossible in order ro sell more channel licenses. If thats the case, please tell me, I don’t want to keep wasting time trying to figure this out.
Thanks.
Hi @Zoominoff,
It is great to have you here in the Community!
Regarding the channel usage for TeamViewer remote connections, there are 2 main sharings available in the Community.
👉 Please also check the channel total and your TeamViewer license type to perform the channel group action.
I hope that these two articles help you with channel usage and ease the confusion.
If there is anymore uncertainty, feel free to drop a message and we are here to help!
Hi,
We subscribe to a limited number of channels. We often encounter "All channels in use" errors.
What is the easiest way to get a list of all users who are currently using a channel?
Thanks,
Zak
How to see the channel on the new 2023 interface?
Hi @AdvantageVideo ,
Welcome, and thanks for reaching out to our Community!
Connection instability could be caused by different reasons.
We would advise you to double-check if the OS on both devices is supported as well as double-check if there is no instability with IPv6 or DNS.
Because you mentioned you have a paid account, please know that you can contact our support team directly for help and further investigation of this issue via phone or ticket.

For the past few weeks Teamviewer has been closing active sessions without warning. I started noticing it every 4 hours. I have since noticed it seems to be based around 7 am, 11 am and 3 pm (EST) and does not matter how long I am signed on. I logged on this morning at 6:54 am and it closed minutes later.
I have a paid account and the timeout setting is off. This just started about a month ago and has happened on a Windows 10 PC and a Windows 11 PC.
Hi, @Hyde
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Comunity✨
Referring to your inquiry regarding channels, please check the answers below.
1. We can not identify who is that user.
2. There is no way for an admin to have rights to force releasing that channel for other users.
👆 This is expected behavior at the moment.
3. Is there a channel control management portal?
👆 Yes, you can manage channels on your company profile by creating channel groups. For more details, kindly check our knowledge article - Channel Groups.
Hope you find this helpful🍀
If there is anything that I can assist with, please don't hesitate to ask them in the Community😉
Hope to hear from you.
Best regards,
Akiho
We can check how many channels are in used at Help->About TeamViewer->Channel use. It will display active user’s ID and connection time. But
2. There is no way for admin to have rights to force releasing that channel for other users.
Somebody use my channel, i cant terminate that connection.
I bump here, too. Need the same information for....
macOS !!!

Hi @Jonathan ,

Hello @ChrisRng,
Thank you for your message and welcome to the TeamViewer Community! ?
A channel is used if a user that has your TeamViewer license activated on his account, establishes a connection to a PC.
If you see the TeamViewer ID of one of your customers in the current license user window,
this means that this customer is logged in with a TeamViewer account that has your TeamViewer license activated on, which is not safe at all and has to be corrected immediately. In this case, please contact our customer support.
Best regards
Jean
Hello,
We have a TeamViewer license of 4 channels. We mainly use TeamViewer to connect to the PCs of our customers. We maintain a list of computers in our TeamViewer so that we can easily connect to the customer PCs. Recently it is found that our 4 channels were always used. We changed the password and the issue is still happening.
Today after issue happened again, I checked the two TeamViewer IDs that appeared in the "Channel Use" dialog box and found those two IDs belong to our customer PCs and are in our TeamViewer computer list. The reason they used our channels is because our customers were connecting to those two PCs using their own TeamViewer at that time. To test the issue, I installed a new TeamViewer on another PC. Without logging into our company account, once I connected to one of our customer PC using this newly installed TeamViewer, the customer PC TeamViewer ID will appear on the "Channel Use" dialog box, i.e., using one of our 4 channels.
We are surprised to see this issue. Can you please confirm how this works and how we can get around this problem.
Thanks
Chris
Can't find that option when using a Mac client. Is this correct? Are there other ways to find out who's using the License from a Mac?
We have 3 channels with our package (Corporate License-Teamviewer 13 ). At times I get messages that all channels are in use. As the IT Manager, how can I see what channels are in use, who is using that channel, and what computer they are connected to?
Can you request a BAN button that deny access to the channels too?
there is no info in "help">"About TeamViewer">"Channel Use" like in this solution See-Active-connections
Hello. When i am trying to turn off TeamViewer host services om my PC it tells me that there was some active connections to my host. How can i check all active connections to my host?
Thnx
