What is a Managed Device?
A Managed Device is a device that is assigned to a TeamViewer account or part of a Managed Group.
Managed Devices can be remotely managed and monitored within the Management Console. As a Tensor customer, you would add any device to your Managed Devices in order to manage them centrally by the company admin.

What are the advantages of Managed Devices?
Managed devices allow you to use the Performance and Scalability Enhancements brought to you with TeamViewer Tensor in version 15.11.
Managed Devices are bringing some enhancements and advantages to your company profile:
- Managed devices can be remotely managed and monitored within the Management Console
- Security- Centrally administer restrictions and policies to regulate access permission and functionality during connections
- The manager of the device (usually the company administrator) can centrally apply policies to all Managed Devices under their control.
- You can enable Easy Access to users
- before 15.11.6: Easy access was granted only via the device,
- with 15.11.6 and newer: granted via Management Console
- Managed Devices can be assigned to one or more TeamViewer accounts
- Managed Devices can be a part of one or more Managed Groups

A device is defined as managed if one of the following cases applies:
- The device is assigned to a TeamViewer account via Assign to accountĀ in the TeamViewer client
- The device is assigned to a TeamViewer account via Manage this deviceĀ in the TeamViewer client (Tensor only)
- Devices already assigned to your account can be imported into your Managed Groups (Tensor only)
- Device assignment via Mass Deployment

If needed, you can add additional Managed Devices to your Corporate, Tensor Basic and Pro license with AddOns. Please contact your Account Manager for this.

What are Managed Groups?
Managed Groups allow you to create groups for your Managed Devices and share them with other Managers.
Once you add your Managed Devices to your Managed Groups within the Management Console, it can be administered by you and other managers you define.
šNote: You can assign specific permissions to individual managers including easy access for better granularity.
Managed Groups appears as a new group in your Computers & Contacts list as well in the lists of the managers you assigned the required permissions.
Within theĀ Managed groupsĀ you can:
- import existing managed devices,
- create managed groups,
- add devices to Managed Groups,
- add managers to Managed Groups and Devices,
- administer individual permissions of added managers,
- apply policies to Managed Devices.

What is a Managed User?
Managed users are any users within your company profile independently whether the user has a license assigned or not. Managed users are visible in the "User management" tab in the Management Console.
As a Premium, Corporate, or Tensor customer, you assign your license to users within your company profile to allow them to work with your license. With this, you make sure to administer your license and your staff in the most efficient way.
As a Tensor customer, you can assign two different kinds of user licenses:Ā
- Remote Workers
- Tensor Agents
Please talk to your Account Manager to find the best setup for your company.
As an administrator, you can see the number of managed users in the User management tab.
Within the Management Console, you can:
- assign the license to your users,
- define the permission set per user,
- adjust different TeamViewer settings for your users (e.g. connection reporting),
- name additional administrators,
- share groups with your staff.
