<p><br></p><p>The Computers & Contacts list allows you to utilize TeamViewer in the best way. By adding contacts and computers, you can accelerate your connection processes. </p><p>Also, the Computers & Contacts list allows you to assign a name to a device for easier identification. More info below 👇</p><div class="blockquote"><div class="blockquote-content"><p class="blockquote-line"><em>This article applies to all TeamViewer users.</em></p></div></div><p><br></p><h3></h3><h2 data-id="how-to-add-a-computer">How to add a computer</h2><p>The Computers & Contacts list is like your "telephone book" for TeamViewer IDs and contacts and is similarly connected with the TeamViewer Account as the two sides of a coin.</p><p>You can add the computers you maintain or often connect to your Computers & Contacts list.</p><p>To add a computer, please follow the instructions below:</p><ol><li>Go into the <strong>Computers & Contacts</strong> tab</li><li>Click the <strong>Add Computer & Contacts </strong>icon (the icon of a person with the + on it)</li><li>Select <strong>Add remote computer </strong>in the dropdown menu</li><li>A <strong>Properties </strong>window will open. Please add the following information for the remote computer: <strong>TeamViewer ID</strong> (mandatory), <strong>Password</strong>, <strong>Alias</strong>, Choose a <strong>group</strong> from within your computers & contacts list</li><li>Click <strong>OK</strong> - now the computer is saved in your Computers & Contacts list.</li></ol><p>Now you can, e.g., check its <strong>online status</strong> and availability for remote support and <strong>connect to the computer</strong> without entering the TeamViewer ID. You can also <strong>transfer files</strong> (secured by end-to-end encryption).</p><h3 data-id="how-to-assign-a-name-to-a-computer">How to assign a name to a computer</h3><p>When saving the TeamViewer ID to your Computers & Contacts list, you can define an <strong>Alias </strong>in the <strong>properties </strong>for the device<strong>.</strong></p><p>You can always change the alias later via the properties or by pressing the <strong>F2-Button</strong> when highlighting the device in your Computers & Contacts list.</p><p><br></p><h3 data-id="-1"></h3><h2 data-id="how-to-add-a-contact">How to add a contact</h2><p>The Computers & Contacts list is your "telephone book" for TeamViewer IDs and contacts.</p><p>You can add the TeamViewer accounts of your customer or business partners you are often in contact with in your Computers & Contacts list.</p><p>To add a contact, please follow the instructions below:</p><ol><li>Go into the <strong>Computers & Contacts</strong> tab</li><li>Click the <strong>Add Computer & Contacts </strong>icon (the icon of a person with the + on it)</li><li>Select <strong>Add contact </strong>in the dropdown menu</li><li>A <strong>Properties </strong>window will open. Enter the <strong>e-mail address of the TeamViewer Account of the contact</strong> (mandatory), a <strong>description</strong>, and choose a <strong>group</strong> from within your computers & contacts list.</li><li>Click <strong>OK</strong> - now the contact is saved in your Computers & Contacts list.</li></ol><p>Now you can, e.g., check their <strong>online status</strong> and availability for remote support sessions and <strong>connect to the contact </strong>without entering the TeamViewer ID by prompting for confirmation. You can also <strong>transfer files</strong> (secured by end-to-end encryption), chat, or have instant video calls.</p><p><br></p><h3 data-id="-2"></h3><h2 data-id="how-to-delete-a-computer-or-contact">How to delete a computer or contact</h2><p>Maintaining your Computers & Contacts list is key to an effective remote desktop strategy. Therefore, if you have a device you no longer connect to or a colleague you no longer connect with, you can delete them from your Computers & Contacts list quickly.</p><p>📌<strong>Note: </strong>You can only remove one device at a time from your Computers & Contacts list.</p><p>To remove a computer/contact from your Computers & Contacts:</p><ol><li>Go into the <strong>Computers & Contacts</strong> tab</li><li>Locate the desired device in your <strong>Groups</strong></li><li>Click the <strong>gear icon</strong> to access the <strong>settings drop-down</strong></li><li>Select <strong>Delete</strong></li></ol><div class="embedExternal embedImage display-medium float-none">
