Assembly
A group of parts can be selected together to form an assembly and to perform actions in the software. Select assemblies through the Model Explorer list.
CAD Model
A 3D representation of a real component. These are files of different formats (STEP, CATIA V5, SolidWorks, etc.) that can be opened in the Spatial Editor.
Frontline Command Center (FCC)
The platform to manage your Frontline products. Use the Frontline Command Center to download software, register devices, manage licenses, and send workflows to devices running Frontline Spatial Workplace.
Holograms
Parts of your model that are highlighted or animated with a specific Pin.
HoloLens
A Mixed Reality Head Mounted Device (Mixed Reality glasses) that can be used to run Spatial Workplace.
Marker
A visual cue is positioned over the real component to trigger the display of the virtual information. The Marker is scanned by a device running Spatial Workplace to indicate the position of the Pins.
Model Explorer
A list of the parts from the model. The parts are organized in assemblies. Select individual parts or assemblies using this list to perform functions on multiple parts at the same time.
Part
A single piece of your CAD model. E.g., a screw, a lid, etc.
Pins
Points over the real component that can be enriched with information like images, videos, audio, PDFs, texts, symbols, and (animated) holograms.
Project
A Spatial project is a file created in the Spatial Editor that stores the information about the 3D model in use, along with the Markers, Pins, and content added to it.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
A unique username and password system is used to sign in into the FCC, Spatial Editor, and Spatial Workplace.
Spatial Editor
This Windows application is used for the creation of Workflows that display information over interest points (Pins) on real objects.
Spatial Workplace
The application runs the Workflows created with the Editor and displays the Pins over the real components. Currently available for Microsoft HoloLens (1 and 2) and mobile devices (iOS and Android).
Tasks
Created from a Workflow or a Template. A Task can be run one single time on the device of the assigned user. It might also have a planned date defined on creation, which makes the task only available on the user's device at this specific date.
Templates
Created from a Workflow. When assigned to a user, Templates appear on the user's device and can be played multiple times. Every time a user selects a Template to run in the Spatial Workplace application, a Task is created from this Template and immediately started.
.v3pproj File
The file extension for a Frontline Spatial project.
View
A group of Pins inside a Workflow. Use different views to organize different sequences of Pins inside the same Project. For example, create a view for cleaning and a view for maintenance of the same machine. This is not a visible separation in the Spatial Workplace application, it is there to help the user keep a clean view when creating a Workflow in the Spatial Editor.
Workflow
A Workflow contains a set of Pins that portray information over a real component, e.g., a machine. Additionally, at least one Marker is required in the Workflow to enable the correct positioning of the Pins over the real component. A Workflow does not keep information on the model itself. The positioning is made in the Spatial Workplace application using the Marker.
