What are bookmarked devices?
Bookmarked devices are those added using the TeamViewer ID.
They are only available for you and can't be shared with others from your company.
They are primarily designed for quick connections through prompts or passwords.
Key characteristics
Bookmarked devices have reduced functionality compared to managed devices (see table below).
- You can only connect to a bookmarked device through a prompt or password.
- Connecting via unattended access is not possible with bookmarked devices.
- Bookmarked devices are not manageable in terms of assigning device managers or applying TeamViewer policies.
- You can add an unlimited number of bookmarked devices to your TeamViewer account.
What are managed devices?
Managed devices are those assigned to your TeamViewer company.
They offer a comprehensive set of features for centralized device management.
Key characteristics
- Managed devices have advanced functionality compared to bookmarked devices (see table below).
- Managed devices support multiple connection methods, including prompts, Easy Access for unattended access.
- Managed devices allow you to define their permissions.
- Managed devices allow you to manage them via TeamViewer policies.
- Managed devices can be awakened from sleep mode using the Wake-on-LAN functionality.
- Managed devices can be automatically added to device groups via mass deployment.
- Integrated health checks and basic asset information are available for managed devices.
