How do I minimize to Mac's system tray?

How to minimize team viewer to Mac's system tray? I want it running in the background but not taking up dock space.

    I'm having the same issue with the latest version. Every time I remove the application from the Dock it shuts down completely. I'd like it to remain in the system tray.
