Syncing the clipboard not working when controlling a Samsung phone from a desktop

When I remotely control my Samsung phone from my desktop I would like to be able to copy some text to the clipboard of the phone and then have this available on the desktop to paste into a document. It doesn't seem to work.

Just to clarify - When I place something on the clipboard of the desktop, this successfully transfers to the clipboard of the phone ready for me to paste. It is only the other direction that is not working, phone to desktop.
