hostname rather than ip

Hi,

Is it possible to connect to VPN using teamviewer and then instead of connecting through the ip connect using a hostname?

We have an app running on a server which needs to be accessed from outside and we are using TeamViewer VPN to connect remotely to a shared folder and execute the app. The only problem comes with the connection to the database which needs to use the server ip given by TeamViewer. If we could just use a host name would be great
