No, I dont use proxy server. Everything used to work fine until suddenly "Not ready, please check you connection".

What is the proxy setting in Windows?

Thanks

China, in Shanghai, on China Telecom fiber optic plan.

No proxy, disabled Windows firewall.

Still no luck. Cannot login to TeamViewer at all.

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

I know there is something wrong with China Telecom, since I could log into TeamViewer fine when I'm on China Mobile network.

I've just sent in the information obtained with TeamViewer's support collector. Will see what the outcome is with that getting analyzed.

Hi @Flying,

I think the problem for Chinese users is called big brother, not TeamViewer.

You agree, don't you?

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

Nope, I don't quite agree with this conclusion as yet.

GFW has never blocked TV, and the TV site, together with this forum, can be accessed unhindered. Furthermore, pings to TV servers work fine. And I can login from my home wifi, just not from my workshop's wifi. -- All these traits differ from a typical case of GFW blockage.

I'd rather continue working with the possibility of other technical glitches until there is concrete evidence regard GFW sabortage.

Hi @Flying,

Have you tried to contact your ISP to verify the correct routing of packets to the TeamViewer servers?

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

The support personnel that I could reach were next to useless, unfortunately. I don't have that much time to waste within the call-forwarding loops... :smileytongue: That's why I was sending diagnosis results to Esther and hope to figure out where the problem possibly lies from TV's end.

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

Hi @Flying,

I fully understand your position and believe me, I'm on your side! No smiling faces, is not the case now.

Here you can find an article explaining to us Europeans the difficulties of communication via internet that are present in ChinaVPNs & Internet in China: Everything you need to know

(It is 2014, but let me know if this is still a current reality.)

Let me know if you're having difficulty reaching the links. In that case I'll try to post the content on this thread.

Assuming that is not a typical case of censorship, is simply possible that all connectivity providers will be adequate to address changes made by TV over a week ago.

We may think that this is not a censorship issue. It is then the possibility that the route to the new TeamViewer's servers has not yet been properly acquired by all Chinese carrier.

Best, DomLan

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

Hello Flying,

TW have changed the server IP of late.I have confirmed that it is a question of ISP, you need to give this issue back to China Telecom.

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

Yes, I'm aware of the server IP change recently -- my TV login breaks ever since.

But I'm wondering if anyone could enlighten me: How do I describe the current situation to China Telecom in the first place?

DNS lookups to TV's servers are successful (IP addresses are all the new ones, too). Pinging those servers are successful, too. But 80/443/5938 ports are all unreachble (TV's web sites are reachable, just the login servers are not). What's more, from my home network, TV login works smoothly (they can claim that they didn't block TV servers). In the end, I tried, but the support personnel would only redirect me back to TV, as it's not they who "manage those servers."

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

It seems to be ISP issue: using China Unicom works well; China Telecom still doesn't work. However, if I run Astrill via Stealth VPN mode, TV works well (although it's still using China Telecom). So, it should be the ISP issue.

I have two networks, both on China Telecom fibre optic plans. One works fine, while the other doesn't. Even it is most probably an ISP problem, I have not been able to pinpoint the exact problem so far.

Is it possible Teamviewer blocked some ip address? I also have two China Telecom line, one is 101.95.17.xxx, the other one is 180.168.162.xxx. The first one is working well, the second one still doesn't work. That's weird. However, other China Unicom lines are all working well. So, any suggestion?

Looking forward to a resolution! As I have no local technical staff in China it's difficult for me to engage with China Telecom about this TV outage. I may have to engage (pay) a 3rd party to open support ticket with them on my behalf if it's not resolved soon.

Guys if your ISP support ipv6 and you can enable ipv6, it will help your teamviewer back online. At least it works for me in CERNET. But not every ISPs and devices support ipv6 so let's wait for the technician team to fix the problem and provide our help.

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

I have talked with a friend in Shanghai and he confirms the issue. We have found that it is probably a regional problem in Shanghai with China Telecom. I think the issue is to be found there. It is questionable whether TeamViewer can do anything in this case. Because China Telecom must fix the problem and I believe that it will lie outside the sphere of influence of TeamViewer.

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

The thing is that, there must be sufficient technical information provided even if Shanghai users wants to escalate this to China Telecom.

As of now, all the tests that we were instructed to perform doesn't provide anything concrete that we can bring to China Telecom -- server names are solvable, servers are pingable, traceroutes look fine, but connections are not going through. All the answers I've got from China Telecom now is simply to throw the ball back to TV.

So the situation is as simple as this: TV and CT playing volleyball.

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

I'm wondering if there is a solution to make teamviewer work temporarily before the problem is realy solved. I noticed teamviewer can get online via proxy server. Can we create a proxy server on a working ISP network like China Unicom, and then configure the teamviewer on problematic network to use this proxy? Is this way able to bring teamivewer activated? Is there any special requirements for teamviewer work with proxy server? Does Squid proxy server on linux support this kind of usage? Hope Teamviewer support can gvie a suggestion. Thanks.

Hi @maicss,

Are you using a virtual machine with 2 configured network connections?

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

Just did a quick test, but it didn't look good:

TV still cannot login (on my laptop, it keeps prompting my "Please check your connection"; on my PC, it simply says "LAN only," though I'm not sure why there is this distrinction).

Ping-ing masterX.teamviewer.com still works flawlessly, but telnet-ing to the 3 ports all fails now! Is there any further test we can do to help pinpoint the exact problem?

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

We are still having the issue at our China facility.  Teamveiwer machines that have not rebooted since before the issue started are still connected.  If the teamviewer service is restarted it will no longer connect. I can ping the master servers and access the teamviewer website from the machines.

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

I got an email from TV on Friday that the problem had been resolved, but I saw no change. I'm (trying to connect) from Shanghai. Our company uses China Telecom. Logging into the Management Consul shows all my machines are offline. There is still some work to do.

Guys if your ISP support ipv6 and you can enable ipv6, it will help your teamviewer back online. At least it works for me in CERNET. But not every ISPs and devices support ipv6 so let's wait for the technician team to fix the problem and provide our help.

I'm in the CSTNET (Shanghai) and basically have the similar finding. If I enable ipv6 and get "IPv6 connectivity: Internet" on the status dialog, Teamviewer becomes alive immediately. But unfortunately, I cannot always get the ipv6 connection working. In fact, I have completely lost ipv6 connection (and, accordingly, Teamviewer) since noon today, with only "IPv6 connectivity: no Internet access" on the dialog. I tried everything, including resetting, rebooting, reconnecting, ... , but nothing happened. Really frustrating...

I'm thinking of two things:

1. How can I get a stable IPv6 connection in CSTNET ? Are you using tunneling for your IPv6 (Teredo, 6to4, ISATAP)?  @blkatbyhh

2. Why is IPv6 necessary for CSTNET anyway? It seems not to be needed for other ISPs, because when I connect my computer via my cell phone's hotspot, which is on China Unicom, Teamviewer gets its connection even with IPv6 disabled. I don't understand what's going on here (maybe some ports of IPv4 are blocked by CSTNET?) , but is there anyway to bypass IPv6 in my case?@Esther

Thank you guys in advance!

Re: Cannot connect to Teamviewer server since yesterday

I think, the best will be, if all affected users make traceroute or better a MTR (under windows WinMTR) to master1.teamviewer.com + telnet with port 80, 443 or 5938 + Public IP and sent it to TeamViewer. It's little helpful if only it is posted that it does not work. At a friend in Shanghai, the problem has been fixed since friday morning.

As suggested by @hklebe, here are some testing results of mine. For comparison, I post results for both the failed one (with CSTNET) and the sucessful one (with China Unicom 4G hotspot).
