No response when trying to connect to a partner

I recently updated to Team Viewer 12 and just now tried to connect to my elderly mom's computer and discovered that I am unable to connect to her computer or my computer at my other home.  I checked her ID and P/W with her and they are typed in correctly, but when I click on "Mom's Computer", nothing happens.  I mean no errors, no messages, no reaction whatsoever.  Same thing when I click on my other computer, too.  I chosen "Control Remote Computer" and the right Partner ID.  The "Remote Control" radio button is chosen.  I have X'd out of Team Viewer and reopened it, too.  I just get nothing.  I don't know what else to check.  Any ideas.
