I'm retired and don't have a life.  One of my hobbies is undermining greedy management. The frustration we are experiencing here is a direct result of decisions made at the highest level of management.  The moderators paid to look at this forum are being exploited.  These people must perform "... unworthy or corrupt use of [their] talents for the sake of personal or financial gain."  I am truly sorry for the moderators.  I truly hope that they can find more satisfying employment.

If enough of the moderators quit, then the highest levels of management will have to pay higher wages to those doing the disgusting tasks (lying to people) required of them.  The moderators are only here because of their financial situation.  

I used to write scripts for customer support ... until I learned what they were being paid.  I told my boss "I'm not doing this any more.  You pay them a decent wage and I'll start writing scripts again."  I didn't have to write scripts again.  

It's greed.  You and I and the thousand other people in our situation are trying to do right.  We're helping people.  We don't get paid, we just make the world a tiny bit happier.  In my lifeless life, it is something that brings me a modicom of happiness.

But, greed, pure and simple unmittigated greed, is **bleep** life out of everyone.

Hey! You!  Moderator.  I am sorry for your life.  I'm sorry you can't even say to your boss, "Do you have to be so greedy?  Do you know that for every one of these thousand people there are five that are being help, but no longer because of your greed?"  Go back to school, do something to better yourself.  You're not going to find opportunity, much less, compassion at TV!.

Same here. My parents are in their 80s. they've been hacked, twice. I use it to help them and move to multiple machines I have a my home. I was shut down in July for suspected commercial use. After investigation I was told that if I access one of my PCs from starbuck you get flagged.  I remembered helping my dad from starbucks while on the road just before the flagging and timeouts occurred.

I went through the ticket process and was certified non-commercial and restored on August 11th. I got an email from teamviewer announcing the restoration. 

I was good for a couple months. Now i'm seeing the "commercial use suspected" screen pops again.  I tried to proactively address this again but TV has shut down their support email address.  The reply I got sent me to their website to open a ticket but you have to have a license before you can create one. 

They don't have a reasonable license for this type of use.  Looks like they are squeezing us off of their product.

No. I tried to connect later but after 3 minutes I disconnected. Maximum 5 minutes. Then I get a message that tells me to wait a few minutes to be able to re-use ....

I have always used TV for non-commercial purposes and in my contacts there are some who are visually impaired.

Why not offer a cheap license[edited by a moderator in accordance with our community guidelines]. For a retiree it's a lot but my only desire is to help.

Otherwise it will be necessary to pass to the competition.

My exact same experience with L.M.I. back when they ended offering their free remote access service. I repeatedly suggested they reduce the fees charged to personal users but they never did that. They lost me to T.V. and now it seems like T.V. is repeating their mistake. Please reduce the license fee to simple personal or hobby use clients like us and we will be happy to support your business. Having unrealistically high commercial license fees for us doesn't win you our business or loyalty. C'mon T.V., please learn from L.M.I.'s failures!

I agree with the idea of a modest free replacing the free version even though I enjoyed using TV to help friends resolve problems. It’s a great help when I can’t get to machines far away.

Teamviewer set to free

In July I got my teamviewer set to free (ticket 419004), but after the latest upgrade I am again getting the message of suspected commercial use. WIll I have to go through the same procedure again of proving a non-commercial use?

I started getting these warnings myself yesterday, or the day before.

I DO connect to a corporate computer now and then, and from a corporate environment and to my home computers quite often. However, I am not in a postion where i bring my work home, and all the connections are private matters.

How do I clear the suspicion?

Sessions time out suddenly after latest update

Ever since the recent TW update, my sessions keep timing out. A few months ago TW did the same thing. I contacted support and they fixed it. Why are they doing it AGAI?!? They now that I volunteer with a charety and maintain their computers and he seniors (computers) belonging to it. They cut me off in mid session, leaving a computer literaly unuseable. TW staff, reset it NOW! And stop messing in peoples business. If you don't get it fixed in the next 12hrs., I will crack your software you'll never interfere again. I am a retired IT tech and I will make it work without your help. You chose the wrong guy to mess with.

I have the same issue on my own email adres and on my wifes email adress.

I never used teamviewer for commercial use, never get paid for giving fammiily friend help.

Now I want to follow the solutions and send a ticket but then it seems it 's not anymore possible for private uses to make a ticket... hmm.

Help or do I need to make a new thread?

Thanks for the "solution" !... But would we be so many free users who didn't think of and try your "solution" ? Maybe are you the one who didn't try anyone of those ?

I tried about 8-10 "alternatives" (the free use ones)... none works as easily, as fast and simply... as TeamViewer. None of those has all its complete functions (such as "drag & drop", or "copy & paste" files to transfer) !... In addition, some are quite complicated to make it installed and configured by your distant friends !...

Otherwise, nobody would still complain here, nor wasting time on this forum to emphasis non stop  that we have been trapped.

Sorry it did not work for you. It worked for me in July when I got official written notice my free use had been re-instated. I lack the time and motivation to be a moderator.

It didn't work, not only for me, but 2 of my friends, using it in the same conditions, have been in exactly the same situation as mine.

So, I would like to know how long time did you apply thta form before beeing reset on July ? And how many sessions have you remote control since July ? (I mean if it's about 3 or 30 ... or more ?)

I also don't understand why we never got any return from TeamViewer to inform us that we had been reset ?... And why we have been blocked again after 2 or 3 sessions ?... Of course, I don't think you can explain this, but I would like to get a clear explanation from a TeamViewer employee (even a moderator) at least....

Best of my memory, I waited almost 30 days before Team Viewer replied with the news that I was approved as a free user.. I have helped family and friends about 10 times in the previous 90 days. Short sessions and always free. Woody

To many complains for same problem! I complete the form, but i don`t have time to wait 30 days for an answer. Is cleary a dirty marketing strategy to reduce number of free users or to convert to paid users! 

An embarrassing behavior for the company that claims to be!

For the moment i choose **Third Party Product**, a flexible alternative.

**Third Party Product** means other many alternatives to this app. Smiley Happy))

THE PROBLEM IS THAT I CONNECT TO YOUR ID AND IN A LITTLE TIME I SHUT OFF THE CONNECTION DURING A TIME AND DO NOT LET ME RETURN TO CONNECT ME UNTIL CAPE UP PAST A FEW MINUTES. I CONNECT WITH MY PARENTS OR SOME FRIEND FROM TIME TO TIME, MAYBE 5 OR 6 TIMES A MONTH. THAT IS NOT PROFESSIONAL USE.

IS THERE ANY WAY TO SOLVE IT WITHOUT HAVING TO REGISTER A LICENSE? SINCE I AM WITHOUT WORK AND I CAN NOT ALLOW ME.

I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP IN ADVANCE.

ese es mi probema, que me conecto y a los pocos minutos me corta la conexion, y me pone que estoy usandolo de modo profesional y no es verdad, en soporte tecnico me dicen que al swer licencia gratuita, pregunte en la comunidad, pero aqui nadie dice nada., a ver si hay suerte y alguien contesta.

No one has "fixed it".  There have been some success in begging forgiveness, rituals involving goats and swearing by the grave of your great-grandmother.  I would also suggest praying to the supreme entity of your religion.

The process goes like this:  one of the comments here has a link to a page where you download a form.  You print the form, fill it out, sign it, scan it back into your computer and send it back to TV.  When you sign the form, you are giving an oath that you are only using TV for personal use.  then you have to send an image of the form you sign back to TV.  But they don't give you an email address, link, etc. to where you should send it.

I think that we should send a description of our plight to Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert and maybe he can do a strip about.

Intern: TV says I'm using their software for commercial.  I'm trying to help my mother in Elbonia.

Dilbert: Contact their customer support

Intern: I'm a free user I can't contact TV customer support

Dilbert: try the forum

Intern: the forum said to contact Scott Adams.

Free use not restored as I was told

On September 21, 2018, I received the following response from TeamViewer stating:

"Thank you very much for sending your self-declaration of personal use to us. We have successfully reset the TeamViewer ID you submitted via the form provided earlier, and we acknowledge that you are using TeamViewer for personal use only."

However, I'm still getting all of the same messages and restrictions.

This is an example from my home PC:

I also get a message every time I connect via. Android but I don't have access to my phone at this moment in time, in order to take a screenshot of the message.

Any ideas?

I get this message every time I use my phone to access my computer.

This has worked fine before but now, the connection automaticly terminates after a few minutes. On my phone I get the message "Sponsored session". This was a free session sponsored by www.teamviewer.com

TeamViewr sessions are free of charge for personal use.

We thank you for playing fair.

Why do I get this message now? it's only private use of my computer. I have already logged into my teamviewer account to access my computer.

Commercial Use Question

I use TeamViewer *at work* (not *for work*) in order to connect to my home pc and phone to check and buy games, check pinterest, and stuff like that.

Recently I've received "commectial use suspected" messages, even though I only use teamviewer to *avoid* using my work pc. (if anything i'm avoiding commercial use)

Is it still considered commercial use because i connect from my job to my house? Even if it's exclusively to use Runescape/League of Legends/Steam/Pinterest/etc?

Edit: I basically just want to know if I should still fill the form or if its a waste of time
Edit2: ... ended up filling out the form. Still would like to know if it's ok to use the program this way

**bleep**....came here in the hope of finding some insight as to what I've been doing wrong...

I've submitted the form online 4 times now, across around 3 months. Twice I've had a reply, each time reassuring me that my ID has been reset to Free. Each time it's made zero difference and the warning popups have continued...infact I've now gone 'far' enough that it's enforcing the auto-kickoff within ~5mins. (Try explaining to my mum that I can no longer see/login to her PC midway her getting very confused about why her browser was showing amazon when she wanted ebay)

I'll try one further reset, then I think I'll be off to start using a competitors product instead...

I called TV today who gave the advice of replying to the ticket...by which I assume they mean the email (without a ticket reference no) from mailings_noreply@teamviewer.com </facepalm>

I am in a similar situation in that I have asked for a reset a few times now and it doesn't seem to have worked. I have recently noticed, however, that it works fine when connecting to one person but not when connecting to the other. The former is someone I rarely connect with (not more than a few times a month if that) whilst the latter is some I can sometimes connect to more than once a night depending on how stuck they are! 

These are the only two people I usually connect with, for tech suppport purposes, but neither of them is "commercial use"; the former is a friend the latter is family.

Does this information help diagnose anything?

I am currently using **Third Party Product** as an alternative. Not quite as good but does the job.

Hi Lmillard,

Having read the former posts on this forum (even all the 45 web pages) doesn't mean that you'll find one that explains how to "fix it". It just will make you understand that there is no way !...

Except @woodyboy , no one says that he has got reset and it lasts long more than 2 or 3 sessions before being kicked away again !

One succesful filled out form among about 1500 complaints is a quite short rate !

Also, when I connect to my home PC from my Android phone, a message tells me I have a 5-minute limit, which ALWAYS only lasts 1 minute before kicking me off.

I used to swear by this software but their recent, awful and obvious business practises have made me jump ship.

I don't know what you mean. If i'm connecting from A to B. A is the client and B is the host and vice versa.

But that doesn't solve the problem i'm having tho. Still getting licens errors on my laptop.

It implies that the is a "exclusive" server & client, like in the old days.
There is no centralised server with TV as all nodes can interconnect.

What pity, some people are still trying to understand... They would like a coherent explanation !
