Teamviewer changing screen resolution back and forward

Hi

I have some problems recently that on remote mashine screen resolution on teamviewer changes quickly from 1920X1080 to 1024X768 and back, thats happens in a second fast... I can not confirm that screen resolution indeed changes on a remote mashine, or it just appier to me on a teamviewer. For me resolution changes, I get down in a systemtray message "this is not optimal resolution....click here for more info..." but I am not so fast, in a second its back again to 1920X1080.

I am using win7 64bit on a remote mashine.

Here is some part of a log if that helps:

I have updated display drivers to try to solve the problem.  Intel HD Graphic

I tried with "fixed" resolution to 640X480, still jumping....

It looks like resolution jumps happens more often if something more is happening on the screen.

Hope that someone have idea.

What resolution do you want it to be at?

Does the monitor being on or off make a difference?

Have you tried setting the resolution in the settings/properties of that host on your computer list? (it sounds like you tried this)

For me its ok to be in any resolution as long as its stable, its a quite tricky to do anything remotely as it shifting often.

I have tried to put resolution in settings, even 640X480 but its still shifting back to bigger resolution and then back again to 640X480.

Monitor is off, but not taken out from power. Its a TV on HDMI. Without teamviewer locally screen resolution is stable 1920X1080. I cant confirm if resolution shifts even on TV when I am connected remotely to PC.

Everything was working fine untill recently, I cannot remember if this maybe start happening after last teamviewer update. I know that TV had a few firmware updates recently too.

On wich principle teamviewer grabbing picture from PC? Is it by default actuall resolution of a display connected or it has its own "optimal" resolution? Wich resolution teamviewer will take if there are never any monitor connected to a PC?

Unless you have it set via TeamViewer settings, TeamViewer just uses what ever the computer is using. I would try changing the setting ot the 1920x1080 setting. I would also suggest looking at the drivers for the display adapter (Try updating them to the most current drivers, or downgrading them to something before this issue presented its self). This probably isn't an issue with TeamViewer so much as something on the PC thinking it needs to change the resolution to match a device.

Nothing has changed on a PC before problem started. But you have a point that probably its nothing on a teamviewer side.

I am suspecting that somehow after TVs firmware update TV handles HDMI output differently wich makes PC "feel" sporadicly shutdown on a HDMI side sometimes. I dont know if thats possible, but I have heard sometimes on a speakers when I was at home, windows device disconnecting/connecting sound while TV was off and PC on.

I am curretnly 10000km away from that PC, I will disconnect hdmi when I have chance to see if there is any difference then.

I will wait a litle if anuybody has a solution to do something on a teamviewer side, if no, I will close this post....

It looks like I solved it.

    It happened exactly as following:

I played a bit with "Generic PnP monitor" drivers in device manager. I tried to install a driver manually and choose driver from the list with resolution 1920X1080 60Hz. That didnt help it was still changing all the time, so I removed it, it was back again on "Generic PnP monitor". But after a restart suddenly I had 2 monitors connected, despite that nobody touched fisically anything. I could choose from teamviewer wich display I will see. And in properities in windows it was set in "extended" display mode. In device manager i had 2 monitors installed, one "Generic PnP" another "Generic non PnP". But changing of resolution didnt happen anymore on any of them 2 wichever I choose on teamviewr to look at. I removed/uninstalled non PnP, restarted PC and everything was back to normal. I have one monitor connected and no any occasionally change of resolution!
