keyboard letters don't send to remote windows 10 pc

Strange thing happening. I am on a windows 10 PC and trying to remotely connect to another windows 10 PC. I am able to seen the screen of the remote computer and the mouse works. However when I went to put in the login (PIN) credentials I noticed that the number keys work but not the letter keys making it impossible to login. Any ideas?
