ITBrain Backup: the backup does not run on some paths

I have to backup a folder in
C:\Program Files (x86)\gestione\

I entered the backup policy:
C:\Program*Files*(x86)\gestione\
C:\*\gestione\

but all these paths are completely excluded from the backup.

If I write the exact path (ie C:\Program Files (x86)\gestione\) is indicated as "invalid path"

How to solve the problem?

Thanks,

Tiziano

Re: ITBrain Backup: the backup does not run on some paths

Hi there,

Thank you for your post.

The possibility to backup a program or operating system folder is not yet given.

Those two areas are excluded by default.

In the following screenshot you can see all the default exclusions from the policy in the management console:2019-05-13 15_22_59-TeamViewer Management Console Backup all overview.png

This is currently a feature request which our developers are looking into.

We therefore cannot tell you when this feature will be implemented.

If you have any further questions, please let me know. Thank you.

Best,

Sebastian

Re: ITBrain Backup: the backup does not run on some paths

Hi all,

we found a simple work around, just use as path: C:\PROGRA~2\your_folder_to_backup\

C:\PROGRA~2\ is the same as: C:\Program Files (x86)\

Greetings,

William

Re: ITBrain Backup: the backup does not run on some paths

Dear @Williamh88 ,

Thank you for your reply.

Those types of variables are not officially supported yet.

They can of course work somehow, but if they cause issues or something else, that is the reason, why they are not supported yet.

We are looking into that, to figure out the best way to provide those variables and the possibility to backup those folders as well.

Best,

Sebastian.
