Messed up desktop after monitor shutdown

Ok,I'm pretty much a Windows refugee and Linux newb.Fresh installed Ubuntu and updated kernel with UKUU. I decided to install Teamviewer 13 on my home pc which now uses Ubuntu so I can connect from my Windows 7 laptop from work. Everything with the install is good, including no Wayland errors. The problem is, when I turn off my Flatron w2442pe monitor and then connect(happens if I connect and then turn off monitor) to my pc with my laptop or android phone the desktop becomes a mess of jumbled and duplicated opened windows. If I leave my browser maximed I can see my display cut in half and duplicated on both sides. It also doesnt update properly and I cant even see if I've opened terminal with shortcuts. So far I've sen this happen only when my monitor is turned off. If I turn it on after the mess happens, it automatically refreshes and I can use it normally once again. Using R9 380 4GB and an HDMI cable if that even matters. Any ideas?
