I am trying to install TeamViewer 12 on a freshly installed lubuntu 17.04 laptop.
I first tried to use the graphical installer. I get a windows with 2 button, one labeled "install" and the other labeled "Website". The Website button takes me to the TeamViewer website as expected. Pressing the install button does nothing.
I next tried installing from the command line. This did not either and produced these errors:
kenw@Ken-Linux-Pad:~/Downloads/TeamViewer$ sudo apt install team*.deb

Could I get some help installing TeamViewer on lubuntu?
Thanks very much,
I Installed from the deb file downloaded from the Teawviewer website and I cannot get it running properly on Xubuntu.
When running, I cannot see any button to connect, upper menu items are not accesible, i.e., nothing happens when I click on it. Display dfialog messages are black. Cannot log in my account, tried several types to login, but it returns with a error.
tried to connect to another computer with its ID, but nothing happens.
Conclusion: Teamviewer 12 IS COMPLETELY Broken for Xubuntu and Lubuntu.
This exact problem happened to me as well, and here is the solution I found that worked for me:
type sudo dpkg -i and then without pressing Enter. Add a space to the end. Then drag the file from Nautilus (the file browser) into the Terminal window. That will paste its full path. Then press Enter.
