Unable to control display settings from Android app

When using TV on Android to remote to Win10, I've noticed over the past couple of months (updates) that the display settings seem to default to "automatic" whether I choose "quality" or "speed". This actually seems to make the scre
en refresh quality worse, although I have no option to see if I can improve the situation.
Any ideas?
