What´s the purpose of Samsung add-on

Hi,
I would like to use Teamviewer Host to access my mobile phone (Samsung Note 9).
If I read correctly, the Samsung Add-On must also be installed in addition to Teamviewer Host ...
I would like to know why this add-on is needed and what it really does?
I've been looking for information about this add-on, but nowhere I could find any detailed describing for what it's needed for.
I would be very happy to get an explanation.
