Is there a way to pass-through a 2FA token device?

For example, if I'm on a laptop, and I have my yubikey plugged in, and I use TeamViewer to remote into my PC, and I need to log into a website or service on the PC,  can I somehow use the token that I have locally with me?  (since obviously I can't walk over and plug it in on the remote machine)

I believe Remote Desktop supports smart card passthrough.

    I have this same question.

  • Anecdotally, yes.  I use a YubiKey for a lot of services and found it does pass through TeamViewer sessions.  For example, I've unlocked my LastPass account on a remote computer while having the YubiKey in my local computer.

What I've found is that the YubiKey just sends a long text string as if typing it.  That long string changes on each activation so it's unique each time you use it.  You can test this by opening Notepad (or any other text editor) and activating your YubiKey.
