Authy on Android OK, Authy on Chrome Never Works
Hi
I use Authy for two factor authentication. The android application always results in a six digit code that is accepted by TeamViewer. When I run the Authy plug-in on Chrome (Window 7, 64 bit) a six digit number is generated, but it is never accepted by TeamViewer. Is this something I can resolve, or do I need to find a different two factor authenticaion tool that will generate a working number from a PC?

Hi kc27,
I'm using the Authy app on my own Android, as well as in Chrome on my Windows PC, and both are working fine with the codes it generates for TeamViewer.
My first thought was perhaps the time settings on your PC were not correct, as that would affect the validity of the codes, but you mentioned that you've checked this.
If you open the app on your Android, and in Chrome at the same time, do they both display the same code as each other for the TeamViewer account? Is the 30-secound countdown relatively in sync between the two (within a few seconds at least)? On mine, they both show the same code with about a 4-5 second delay between them.
You could try removing the app from Chrome and reinstalling it again. I would recommend removing Chrome from the list of devices first: open the Authy app in Chrome, click the gear icon, go to the Devices tab, and remove Authy Chrome. Then remove the app itself from Chrome's Extensions page (chrome://extensions/) - once done, reinstall it and re-add the device to your Authy account. Maybe that helps.
Failing that, I'd suggest getting in touch with Authy's support to see if they have any further suggestions for what could cause this. It sounds to me like it's an issue with their Chrome app not syncing correctly, or getting the right timestamp on your PC, or something along those lines. You can contact them via the Support Ticket button at the bottom of this page: https://www.authy.com/app/#support.

Dear kc27,
Thank you for your post.
The security code is valid for only 30 seconds. Perhaps it is due to the date/time setting on your Android device.
Please make sure that "Automatic date and time" setting was set.
After that, could you please restart the authenticator-app.
I hope this is helpful!
Did my reply answer your question? Please accept it as a solution to help others, Thanks.

Hi - thanks for the response. I wasn't clear in stating my problem:
Authy app on Android always generates a valid security code
Authy plug-in for Chrome browser on Windows desktop never generates a valid security codeHow do I resolve the problem with the Authy plug-in in the Chrome browser? The PC's time settings are accurate.
