"share computer sounds and music" does not share any audio

I'm unable to share computer sounds and music. In some instances, the option to turn it on doesn't remain checked while in others it does, but nothing can be heard anyway. I also noticed that turning it on by default has been known to crash teamviewer upon starting a meeting.

I have the latest realtek drivers for Windows 10 and I have also tried Windows' default audio drivers to no avail. This has been going on for a couple of months now.

    I have also tried this with my audio output driver being set to another device (such as my focusrite audio interface) to no avail.

    Well, after a couple of months... we discovered that despite the partners voice out being set to her headset, she wasn't hearing anything. We fixed it. Still, sometimes the checkbox unchecks itself which probably is a bug with teamviewer but it seems to work now... you have no idea how much I facepalmed.

     

    EDIT: It apparently does work when my audio output device is my focusrite... I'm a little confused now.
