Connection stuck on Initializing display parameters if using set password.

I am on a windows 10 the other is a windows 7 set up on a air card. Free version for both items. When I attempt to connect with a randomly generated password I can connect with no issues. If I attempt to connect with easy granted access or a set password I get stuck on Initializing display parameters. Any ideas?
