Online State Alert - Monitoring

Hi 

we are evaluating TV Monitoring and have some strange alert behaviour to ask about.

1. Using the default profile with no email addresses, our main account holder still gets alerts. Is this expected behaviour?

2. When we enable online state alerts and shut down the server for a period of time, say 10 mins, we get an Offline and later an Online email. However if the server goes down at 2am and comes back on 7am (5 hours) we get the Offline but no Online email - is that expected and why?

3. This monitoring is taking a while to get our head around, can I extend the evaluaiton period? Who do I contact and how please?

Thank you to anyone that responds. I guess they might be basic questions, but they are holding us up from making a decision to proceed.
