Remoting into a computer, but every time I try to open up something it doesn't open entirely.

So I'm trying to remote into my computer at home and it works perfectly fine, but the thing is everytime I try to open up something, it opens then gives me a white screen or stays stuck at the loading screen, I can't do anything and I am unsure of whats going on. I've waited a couple minutes and nothing loads or it's stuck at a white screen.
