Cant connect two laptops: "This partner does not accept incoming connections"

I bought my son a new laptop for college and we are trying to set up TeamViewer in case he runs into trouble while away and I need to connect to help him out.  We installed TeamViewer on both laptops and we both created seperate accounts.  I captured the TeamViewer ID from his app and from my app I tried to connect to his laptop.

However, when I enter his ID and select Remote Control button, I get back the response:  "This partner does not accept incoming connections".

I checked both his laptop and mine and the only setting I could find was for remote assistance, which is checked. Not sure if thats the same thing or not.  Any idea why I can not connect to his laptop?

  • I'm having the same issue. However, one of the laptops is a work laptop, and I'm not the admin. This means I can't download and run the desktop program. So I'm stuck with the same issue as shown above.
