Teamviewer stuck between ID and password

Good afternoon community.
I just tried to connect to a friends pc who is a few hours away. His Pc and Teamviewer were running and he is on version 5, I am on version 13. (never had a problem between these versions before but ok).
So i enter his ID (rare 10digit one 
) and when i hit connect it stays at the "connecting..." for a few minutes without asking for a password.
I could wait now for hours the screen won't change. If i try to connect to another pc running TV 5 it works perfectly.
I really don't know what the problem is exactly but if one of you girls/guys/others knows how to help me then feel free to make my day.
