Two TeamViewer accounts on one Machine

Hi all,

I've been looking for the solution past few days, I found multiple topics with the same or similar issue but with no solution. So let's pass through this one more time.

So here's the thing, we have three computers, let's say 1, 2 and 3. Computer 1 has few user accounts in it. C1 is logged in to userA and C2 connected to C1's userB via windows remote desktop connection. Now C3 wants to connect to C1 userA or userB via TeamViewer. But there's only one TeamViewer ID It's showing in userA utill userB will login. While userB is logged in C3 cannot connet to C1's userA

SOOOooooo..... Is there a way to have different TeamViewer IDs on different users in the same machine ? and if no, then how to prevent userB from bothering userA and C3, because you can't delete TV on userB and have it on other user in same machine, and even though, userB sometimes needs to be remotely accessed also. Even TV configurations are shared between users like start with windows option. Its bothering us all the time, we need to manually exit from userB TV then restart TV on userA then we'll be able to get back TV ID and connect to userA from C3, but THEN if we need to connect to userB we need to again manually launch TV on userB, however at this point userA left with no TV ID.

One more thing I want to point out. TeamViewer was installed on these machines long time ago and haven't been updated since it was working perfectly. Probably it was version 9 or 12, but this issue appeared when we updated TeamViewer to latest version. Back then TV was assigning userA and userB with different IDs.

    Hello @Yanitwei,

    Thank you for your message.

I see that you are using TeamViewer in a multi-user environment and this is great!

TeamViewer is indeed generating two IDs in a multi-user environment. To avoid any issues, please make sure to always use the Server ID when you connect to a device.

You will find all the instructions on how to solve your problem in our Knowledge Base article right here: https://community.teamviewer.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/TeamViewer-on-Windows-servers/ta-p/4572

I hope this could help. If not, do not hesitate to ask your questions here.

    Hi Jean,

    Thnaks for your answer.

I tried to configure my TV as written in your provided Link, but it mentions Windows Server OS and TeamViewer (Server), However mine is regular Windows 7 Pro and regular TeamViewer. How to configure then ?

Moreover, I found some old screenshots with that particular option "checkbox", however in my TV there's another option in that particular place.

Can you please provide more detailed information about how to configure enhanced multi-user support option ?

    Hello @Yanitwei,

The multi-user support does not exist for regular operating systems.

On a regular OS, TeamViewer will generate only one ID. This will be the only ID reachable for this device.

There is, unfortunately, no workaround for this.

I thank you for your understanding.

    Cheers

    Jean

If it can generate multiple IDs on windows server, why not to make TeamViewer so it will do the same in regular multi-user environment ??
