Re: How do you post a question?

I am trying to post a question of the Teamviewer's Community board but I am lost about the item label "Choose a board."  When I click on it, it opens a window with a few options like Teamviewer community or just Teamviewer alone.  I click on Teamviewer Community and nothing happens.  When I Preview my message, I get a red error message saying answer the highlighted error message.  How do you post a message?

Re: How do you post a question?

Hi @drbajb

Thank you for you question and welcome to the Community.

If you would like to post a question about TeamViewer, just click on the main page on the TeamViewer icon (for ITbrain on the ITbrain icon and for airbackup accordingly):

After that, please choose, if you are having a question about TeamViewer 12, TeamViewer 11, API and scripting or if you have an idea of how to improve TeamViewer.

Depending on your question, just click on the field corresponding to your topic:

(It is no longer possible to post new questions about TeamViewer 12 Beta, because we do no longer offer the Beta version, but you can still reply to existing questions.)

After choosing the right board for your question, click on "Start a topic":

Now, you see the Editor. Please work with "Rich Text" and enter the Subject of your question to give a little preview about your topic. After that, add your question and text in the text field and add a Label to make it easy to find your question afterwards (a label could be TeamViewer 12, help, or something related to your question:

(Feel free to add tags as well. Tag can be added afterwarts as well by other users or the Moderators).

When you are done, just click on "Post".

I hope, this information helps you!

Best,

Esther

Re: How do you post a question?

Hi,

I don't have it in front of me but I went through this today.  Click on the "bullets" on the left side and you will be able to see more choices that you can click on... see if that works..

Re: How do you post a question?

I am trying to start a new thread, but when I click "Post" it says:

Correct the highlighted errors and try again.
There was an error while attempting to post your message. Try again in a few minutes.

There is nothing highlighted. I filled everything, except Associated Product. No matter what I type there, it says "No matches".

Oh, after a minute it worked. I guess the system was overloaded or something...

Re: How do you post a question?

Do you see how complex it is to simply START a topic? I've gone CRAZY - 3 YEARS AFTER THS QUESTION!! - LITERALLY going in web page circles around your site looking for the same thing as this questionier.

Most online community sites have "Start a ticket" FIRST. THEN have them pick a category sub-category, etc. Yours is a-backward.

Furthermore, WHAT THE HECK IS A PROPER LABEL??!! Every one I enter gets rejected!. Is there a Lable list? If so, why isn't it a dropdown box of selections?! This compounds my previoius paragraph and makes entering a topic INFURIATING!

THEN.... If you don't enter a proper label, and just keep trying time and again. TV counts each submission as a new topic!!! **bleep**!!!! I get messages that I've tried to submit too many posts in xxx seconds. JUST TRYING TO POST ONE TOPIC!!!

Along with how incompetent the software is for using it unatteneded - BECAUSE YOU  CAN'T TURN ON THE REMOTE VIDEO OR MIC - TERRIBLE for the eldery whom you want to have to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING - I HATE THIS SOFTWARE AND SITE!!!

HOW IN THE WORLD IS IT SO HIGHLY RATED? Which is the ONLY reason I went with it.

HOPEFULLY, since this is a reply and it will post with no problems. I'm not optimistic...

Whadya know. It worked.

PS. I'm a software engineer so I know my way around an app and the web. And both of yours are terrible.
