I had the same problem on Windows 10, but uninstall reainstall of teamviewer did not help. Instead I uninstalled IE11 and reinstalled it, that fixed the problem. Since it is not intuitive to uninstall IE11, here is how, go to control panel then programs, then select "turn windows features on or off", locate "Internet Explorer 11", and uncheck it. At this point you can test if you can exit Teamviewer with out crashing... If it works, you can re-enable "Internet Explorer 11", which will reinstall it, and Teamviewer should still continue working. Ray.
