TeamViewer Host Intune Deployment

Good afternoon,

I've been attempting to create a rollout of TeamViewer through Intune at a medium sized company.

It's currently being deployed as a .intunewin package, installation works fine however Assignment is a pain in the *bleep*.

Using the assignment command in the documentation.

There are times where this works flawlessly, and times when it doesn't work at all.
From what I could gather in the log files, it seems to be that there is a problem connecting to the internet when the assignment command is being ran.

I'm wondering if it's a port / proxy issue, although we are currently allowing the .teamviewer.com domain, and it also doesn't explain why it works half the time, and not other times.

Can someone provide some documentation on what we can do to remediate these issues?

Kind regards,
Noel R.

    Good afternoon,

We are experiencing similar issues with our TeamViewer rollout through Intune. We would like to know if others are facing the same problem and if someone from TeamViewer could provide a solution.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards,

    Goodmorning,

I'm having the same issue deploying the host via Endpoint Manager

  • Is this for the new device management or the old one?

Assume the new since we're supposed to run it… after the installation… for no good reason.

Could add a network test before installation starts and just send it straight to an exit code if it fails. Intune will just retry endlessly anyways.

I have seen very few failures on the actual installation and assignment. Jinxed now perhaps.

  • Hi,

I've since had to add a remediation script checking a registry entry and attempting assignment if it's not available, seems to have resolved our issue.

It's really tempermental upon initial install.

Our Security product is also unable to resolve *.teamviewer.com as it can't resolve PTR records from the IP's, not very helpful.
