Enjoy an Enhanced Remote Printing Experience with TeamViewer 13
Live and in color: Remote printing is now possible with HP printers and on macOS!
The ability to print remotely can come in handy in many situations, for example when you’re collaborating with colleagues in another location, or telecommuting.
And since remote printing with TeamViewer is pretty straightforward, you can just stick to your usual workflow and select the remote printer in the printing dialogue after you went through our simple setup process for remote printing.
Simplicity is actually a perfect cue to proceed with the enhancements I promised. Because ultimately, that’s what remote printing is all about, right?
If it wasn’t for remote printing, you’d be forced to go through the cumbersome process of first transferring your documents locally and then opening them up on the local device again, before printing them. Another troublesome side effect is that this creates multiple versions of the same file. If you’d like to print it again at a later point in time, his might leave you wondering, if the local copy is the most up to date version.
The remote printing workflow really cuts to the chase, however: When it’s time to print the document, just select the remote printer, press print and … that’s it! No transferring hassles, no multiple versions.
Let’s have a look at how we enhanced remote printing in TeamViewer 13 to add more simplicity to your life.
Compatibility with HP Printers!
To improve our users’ experience with TeamViewer, we always strive for maximum compatibility with as many devices as possible – enabling you to work seamlessly, irrespective of their brand.
Take this for example:
HP is a long-established hardware manufacturer and especially appreciated for their high-quality printers by consumers and companies alike.
With TeamViewer 13, we make our enhanced remote printing experience accessible to all HP users by providing full support of HP printers.
Of course it works the same way as with any other printer brand you might use, including the following two features.
Remote Printing is Available on macOS
From now on, not only HP users, but also Mac users can benefit from the simplicity remote printing with TeamViewer offers.
Not only that, but Mac users even get additional functionality! More specifically, it’s the option to open a print preview and double-check the document before confirming the printing assignment.
Remote Printing Goes CMYK
For most documents in our day-to-day business, printing them in black and white or gray shades works perfectly fine. It is only sometimes that you can’t do without color to emphasize or illustrate a point. But with the enhanced remote printing experience, we eliminated these limits.
Instead of being confined to 256 shades of gray, how about you spice up those plain sheets of paper with a theoretical 4.29 billion colors?
I mean… don’t exaggerate with all the colors, but you get the idea: remote printing with TeamViewer is possible in color now!
Remote Printing with TeamViewer Has Never Been So Simple
In TeamViewer 13, our Enhanced Remote Printing is possible with more computers, printers, and colors – granting you more flexibility than ever before.
If you haven’t tried remote printing yet, now is the time to do so.

When I try to use Printer with TeamViewer it hardly works, most often I see Printer Not Activated Error Code 20 while working with these two. I have tried the basic troubleshooting but it never worked.

In addition to introducing USB printers, you can introduce printers that have been shared on the system. You can even print to remote printers utilizing the TCP/IP convention. All you have to know is the printer's IP address. Visit Error Code 0xc00000e9 for information.
