On stand-by duty in the holiday season? Fix problems from home with TeamViewer and stay with your loved ones.

Holiday season is right at our doorstep, waiting for us to get some well-deserved rest.

For some of us, however, a continuously undisturbed holiday season is not a given. Whether you’re on stand-by duty, or an emergency crops up and catches you flat-footed – few things can be more frustrating than being forced to leave your family in the middle of the family dinner.

Maybe just a quick chat message to a colleague does the trick? Do you need to access your office computer? Or perhaps an emergency meeting is the only way to get things straight.

But what if I told you that you don’t even have to leave the bed, much less the dinner table, to keep your business up and running?

Well, I guess you wouldn’t be too surprised, because this is the TeamViewer Community, after all. And we want to ensure that you can enjoy your vacation to the fullest.

So, in case you haven’t set up your devices for a stress-free holiday season already, here’s what you should do.

Get Your Devices Ready for a Stress-Free Holiday Season

In order to react as quickly as possible and reduce the time you have to spend to fix any problems that might occur, there are some preparations to make, before leaving your office for the holidays.

First off, you should make sure that TeamViewer is installed on all devices you intend to work with, if need be.

Apart from your office devices, you should definitely go for it with your PC/laptop at home, which most likely has everything you need to work at normal speed, e.g. a physical keyboard and a mouse, or at least a track pad.

Additionally, and especially if you’re the type of person who travels a lot during holidays to see your kin, you should think about installing the TeamViewer Remote Control app on your smartphone and/or tablet. By doing so, you’ll be able to access your computers and your chat.

Lastly, you want to set up TeamViewer for Unattended Access and Wake-on-LAN, granting your devices access to each other without the need of confirmation.

Now, you should be good to go and – if you absolutely have to – react to problems quickly, without having to leave your cozy home.

Looking Forward to a Successful 2018 with You

To wrap this up, we at TeamViewer want to sincerely thank you guys for a great 2017. The TeamViewer Community really flourished in the past 12 months, with thousands of new members joining in and helping each other out.

But there’s a new year to come, with new challenges to master and exiting technical developments to witness. So rest well throughout a wonderful vacation and, if you’re affected by any stand-by or emergency tasks, use TeamViewer to get it over with quickly.

TeamViewer wishes you, your business, and your family a joyful holiday season and we are looking forward to a successful 2018 with you!
