File transfer stuck

Hello, I met a problem recently when I was transferring files. I need to transfer files from a Mac OS to a Linux PC. There are thousands of files in each folder, and each folder is larger than 5GB. When I transferred the folders, they would be stuck in the middle, like 1GB, and couldn't restart the transferring by themselves. So I could only abort the transferring and start it again manually. I was wondering if there was any size or number limit for file transfer? Or Do you have any advice to troubleshoot? Thank you!
