Spam while using TeamViewer

Who else gets these HIGHLY annoying spam advertisements from teamviewer while using the services? I already am paying them a lot of money and they have the nerve to throw a big message on my screen after closing a connection asking me to buy more services....

What's worse is when you click do not show this message again, 90% of the time, the link does nothing! So the next time you close a connection, you get a stupid pop up from a **bleep** service they are offering that practically no one is going to buy!

Teamviewer, STOP SPAMMING YOUR OWN CUSTOMERS... When I am providing support for tons of employees and need to quickly jump between machines, the last thing I need is a stupid ad that I have to close every single time..... Its petty, but highly annoying. You already have my money, but you will be losing it soon if this continues. I will not renew and will go to a competitor if this continues.

Hello @MattCruz,

Licensed customers using Windows are able to disable in-app ads via the TeamViewer options. You can find the setting here:

Extras → Options → Advanced → Show advanced options → under TeamViewer options, un-tick the box for In-product marketing messages → OK

You can also stop the comment window after each session from popping up, by going into your TeamViewer settings → Computer & Contacts → Un-tick the box Show comment window after each session

The option is grayed out on computers that we connect to and we are not signed in. So you can't disable it on the computers you connect to. If we or the user open Teamviewer to give us the ID, they can't tell us because there is and ad in the way. This is extremely annoying for a product that we are paying for.

User: "I'm having a problem with my computer can you help me? I'm not good with computers"

Tech: "Sure no problem. Just double click the Teamviewer icon on the desktop and read me your ID"

User: "Ok it opened but I don't see the ID."

Tech: "Oh ok, click remote control and the it should be right under Allow Remote Control."

User: "I don't see an ID"

Tech: "No problem, do you see anything that says your id?"

User: "Sorry no I don't"

Tech: "Can you click on Remote control?"

User: "I can't it looks like it's grayed out"

Of course when I open it I don't see the ads because I've disabled it and can't tell what they see. BTW, the users we are helping don't care about your new features it AR or Trustpilot, they just want to be helped.

Please consider removing the ads for a paid product.

Oh man, you just solved my annoying 5+ year issue with teamviewer HA! I guess I should have googled this more. If the messages get re-enabled, I will post an update here. I hope not! When you do thousands of sessions over the years, the time really adds up lol.

KevTMX, YES! Dude, this happens to me as well. Why in the world would they put these ads right smack in the middle? Yes, it prevents anyone from moving forward and must push the X which i'm sure marketing thinks this is a good idea, but many clients barely know how to use a computer. They do not see the X and it just causes a headache for everyone. TEAMVIEWER, you should not advertise this way. Move it to the side, make it smaller... OR just don't advertise like this. It seems sleazy

I created an account on here after 10 years of using TeamViewer JUST TO add my voice to this discussion. We paid thousands of dollars for the Corporate licensing at my current employer and our users are getting this message below, as I was before disabling via the "Receive in-product marketing messages' option. I've seen TV do this for years... and I'm going to put my life on the line and just say, this does not work, it makes us hate your product and I doubt it is successful if you guys are actually tracking how many users received the ad versus clicking anything on it? 1 in 1,000? How many purchased anything? Is it really worth it?

Currently my work around was using a branded custom TV installer from my corporate account and that solved my issue, but this is just terrible and wanted to share we all feel the same way.
