How can standard users launch the standalone app without local admin rights?

Hello,

We have received a new version of a sw that need to connect with Teamviewer - we received the standalone executable, however, as a basic user it is not possible to launch the viewer - if you look in the event logs you get the following errors:

Nom de l’application défaillante TeamViewer.exe, version : 9.3.62587.0, horodatage : 0x60789494

Nom du module défaillant : KERNELBASE.dll, version : 10.0.19041.1288, horodatage : 0x3e55bd0b

Code d’exception : 0xe06d7363

Décalage d’erreur : 0x0012b5b2

ID du processus défaillant : 0x4258

Heure de début de l’application défaillante : 0x01d7c64701271732

If we connect with an administrator account Teamviewer connection opens ok. Providing the user with admin rights locally on his machine is not option, is there a way to launch the app without asigning local admin rights to the user?

    Hello @emc789,

I was researching a little about this earlier today and I found this potential solution:

    1) Right-click on TeamViewer ➜ Properties

    2) Go to the Compatibility tab and untick Run this program as an administrator ➜ click OK

This will make sure that TeamViewer opens without administrator rights.

Let me know if this fixes the issue! 🙏

    Hello,

Sadly no this did not resolve the issue - the Run program as administrator option was already deselected.

    Hello @emc789,

This is unfortunately all the settings that are available from the TeamViewer side.

Maybe you could check whether there are ways to force launching programs in Windows as a standard user?

There must be a way to achieve this...
