screen update stops working for several seconds after connecting

I'm having a problem with teamviewer which occurs since a few weeks (it didn't happen before): when connecting to the remote PC, after a few seconds the teamviewer screen stops working - it won't update anymore (but would still react on mouse interaction but you can't see it). it kind of freezes for app. 10 seconds then works as normal, very annoying. i already tried updating to the latest version, didn't help. the remote pc is within the same network. any idea what could be causing this - or is it a known bug?
