Please help!
Today, when I was using Teamviewer, I entered my ID, but the connect button was grayed out, so I couldn't connect for remote control. I've tried restarting the computer and reinstalling, but it's still not working...
Dear Esther,
yeah i'm willing to share that. I just simply go to options--advanced--Access Control and choose "Full Access".
The problem has already been solved, thank you for your answer anyway.
Have a nice day
make sure that's its not set for 'deny outgoing remote control sessions'
Hi @Kleeisthier
Thanks for posting and Welcome to our Community!
I´ll try to help you be able to connect again as good as I can 🙌 For this, I´d like to ask you two questions to begin with:
Thanks in advance for checking the above!
Esther
Thanks for the update @Kleeisthier !
I am happy to hear it is working again 👍
Do you mind sharing what was the cause of the button being grayed out? I think this could be a huge help for others that might face the same and find this thread later.
Thanks and have a good start to your week,
Hi again,
Thanks for sharing 🙌
That´s awesome! Additionally to this setting, I could think that a check of the "other" setting for Connections from this computer can be helpful for those who are facing the same issue someday in the future.
And thanks again - I am happy I asked you as this setting was actually not on my agenda of checks to start with. So I definitely learned something from you today. I´ll keep this solution in mind in the future 👍
Have a great rest of your day and take care,
After years of using Teamviewer, today my connect button went grey instead of blue. My partner IDs were visible in the list, but clicking on a a partner ID did not lanch a connection. If I erased a partner ID from the display window and retyped it, followed by the enter key, then the connection succeeded as I was then prompted for the password.
In my advanced settings for "connection to other computers", the access control field already displayed "full access". However by toggling "full access" to "Deny outgoing remote control sessions", saving, exiting advance settings, then coming back and resetting back to "full access", I was able to get my connect button to go blue again, and my connections now work as before.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^This right here! Thank you so much @montrealuser. This was driving me nuts with a new install and I couldn't connect to it from my main system. It's dumb that this is the case, but I am very grateful you posted it, as it resolved my issue!
done all this ..still greyed out..
Had this problem on Ubuntu, running ``teamviewer daemon restart`` in the terminal and then restarting TeamViewer solved it for me, none of the other answers worked.
