Connections persist after exiting TeamViewer

When I check the network after exiting TeamViewer I can see that the connection to the remote server persists, and stays established until the system is shut down.
This did not occur on a previous release of the *.tar package version of TeamViewer.
Can any changes be made to the code to kill the connection after I exit TeamViewer?
