I am trying to get TeamViewer to run on a remote computer. The remote computer is running a macro, which I would like to have run unattended.
Here is some background. I am running a macro on a dedicated laptop at my home. It trades financial markets day and night, so needs to be running at all times. When I travel, I have to shut down the PC so I can take it with me, which means I am loosing trading time. The second issue I wish to resolve is using better equipment than just a simple laptop with a simple Wi-Fi and internet connection.
To help this situation, I was thinking that I could run this on a VPS (Virtual Private Server). I have since opened a VPS account and now have the trading macro running on the VPS via TeamViewer. I have granted the VPS easy access so I can easily log into it. I have run into two problems:
Problem 1 – When I log into the VPS, Windows makes me enter its password. I found in the TeamViewer handbook the section about TeamViewer Authentication. When I follow this information, instead of the popup window opening with the Authentication fields, it makes the connection to the VPS and Windows shows its password window. After I key in the password, TeamViewer and the VPS work as expected. Does anyone know how to make TeamViewer Authentication open?
Problem 2 – When I disconnect TeamViewer between my computer and the VPS, the macro on the VPS will stop running. I am assuming this is because the macro emulates keystrokes and mouse movements to collect the data and uses screen colors to determine when web pages have loaded, and without a keyboard, mouse, and monitor connected to the VPS, the macro does not know what to do. Does anyone know how to format TeamViewer or Windows to make the VPS think that the peripherals are still connected, assuming this is the problem?
Thank you for any help you can offer!
