My account is gone and I want to cancel

So I signed up for TV quite a while ago and have since then stopped using it for years. I had no idea how to cancel the subscription so I canceled the auto subscription on Paypal, which I thought would take care of the cancellation since if I don’t pay they could just stop my service. I believed that to be the case until I received a sketchy email asking me to pay for the service which I totally ignored since I thought it was a scam email. Then, I received the email again stating that if I don’t pay, they will take legal actions against me. Not gonna lie, I didn’t trust that email fully until I googled a bit and found out others have had similar email. So, I went to teamviewer.com/payment and put in my invoice and paid the overdue amount. After that, I tried to log in using my account so that I can open a support ticket and tell them to cancel my subscription. But then it seemed that my account was removed since I couldn’t log in using any of the passwords I know. I chose the “I forgot my password” option and still didn’t receive any email to change my password. Then, I tried to check whether or not my account was still there by signing up for TV again using the same email, which turned out I could. So basically, I can’t access my old account which I paid for since it no long exists. So what am I supposed to do? Will I be charged for my old account even though it’s no longer there? Do I need to pay even more?since I only paid the amount shown on the invoice, not the amount stated in the email about legal actions.

    Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out and Happy New Year!

I think most of your questions need to be answered by the TeamViewer Support team via ticket, but I can definitely answer your question regarding the account and the license.

The license you have at TeamViewer can be added to any TeamViewer Account you want. You did not pay for a specific address you defined earlier or when subscribing initially. I think, what we need to do now, is get you a new activation link so that you can link your license with the newly set up TeamViewer Account. From here, you can start using TeamViewer again as you did in the past and also reach out to the TeamViewer support team to submit a ticket for your cancellation.

Do you mind sending me a Private message with the invoice number and your email address? I´ll try to get someone to send you the activation link again (or do you have one)?

    Thanks, Esther
