I am using a Mac to connect to a PC, I can connect but it does not mount any drive?

I am using a Mac laptop to connect to a server set up for windows. It shows me as connected but it does mount any of the drives. Any thoughts on how can I connect without needing to use parallels or something similar running windows on my Mac? Thank you!
