Team Viewer does not start up unattended with Windows 11
Although Team Viewer is set to start up with my new Windows 11 pc when it is powered on automatically every day , it does not come alive until the enter key is pressed, which defeats the purpose for unattended remote access.
I have Team Viewer with the exact same settings on a WIN 10 pc sitting right beside the WIN 11 PC, and the WIN 10 pc works perfectly (can be accessed remotely on unattended start up), while the WIN 11 pc requires a physical push of the enter key before it shows up in the list of my other computers as On Line in TV.
All SW on both machines is up to date and all TV settings are EXACTLY the same. I have also made sure the "Team Viewer Remote Software" in the Services.msc list is set to "Automatic", just like on the WIN 10 pc.
Driving me crazy. Would appreciate any idea that might help!

Hello @cgstv0622
Thank you for your post, and welcome to the TeamViewer community!
That is a curious one - let's see if we cannot figure out some information.
First, could you please confirm that the device is assigned to your account? If so, please unassign and re-assign the Windows 11 device to your account.
Second, please let us know the specific version of TeamViewer that is installed.
If you can also let us know if this was a fresh install, or the result of a migration from another device, that will help too.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Josh,
Thanks for offering to help.
- My Win 11 PC is assigned to my account. As you suggested, I have now unassigned it and re-assigned it to my account.
- My T/V version is 15.31.5 (64-bit).
- It was a fresh install on the new Win 11 PC.
For what it is worth, I had the PC running with T/V also running. I left it for 90 minutes and when I returned and opened T/V on a different PC, it had disappeared from the list of my computers. I then showed up again when I hit the enter key physically on the Win 11 PC. (This was before I did as you suggested: un-assign/re-assign). The Win 10 PC (an older one) will run for days and T/V never "goes to sleep".
I am baffled!

OMG! I have now screwed something up!
I made a clean install of T/V on the Win 11 PC - just to be sure - and all my devices have "Easy Access" granted. However, when I use the Win 11 PC to connect to 2 other PCs my mouse and keyboard have no effect on the remote PCs, i.e. I can do nothing from the pC (Win 11) with he fresh install of T/V! And, every connection says I must "wait for the remote PC to grant permission to view their screen!"
What has happened? Might this have something to do with the fresh install of the latest version? Have I possibly inadvertently set some switch in error?

Josh,
Please ignore the issues I talked about in the last post. I re-installed T/V on the Win 11 PC and it seems to be behaving as it should once again. I have access to the other PCs and remote gestures work again. Sorry for that false alarm.
So we are back to just the original issue: Why doesn't T/V on the Win 11 PC stay live after an unattended start-up of that PC when it does so happily on the Win 10 PC?

Hello @cgstv0622
Thank you for the clarifications!
As I do not have a Windows 11 device nearby to test on, I am going to reach out to my support teams to see if they have any information regarding this.
As soon as I find out more info, I will let you know!
Thanks for your cooperation and patience in this matter!

Hello again @cgstv0622
Could you please let me know what Build version of Windows 11 you have?
My support team reminded me of this note in our Supported Operating Systems article:
While there is no known issue specifically with Start with Windows and TeamViewer, if the build of Windows 11 is below 22.000.258 then some erratic issues may appear.
Thanks in advance again for your clarifications, or any other information!

Hi Josh,
My OS Build Info:
Edition Windows 11 Pro Version 21H2 Installed on 5/5/2022 OS build 22000.778
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.778.0
The last Quality Update was: 2022-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5014668)
So, from your note, this hopefully should not be the issue?

Update:
Again, this morning, while both PCs are set to sleep after 20 minutes, and both are set to power up (via BIOS) at 0800, the Win 10 PC can be accessed remotely, but the Win 11 PC does not show in Team Viewer. I can see the Win 11 PC by accessing my home network via the Win 10 PC, but I cannot ping it.
Near as I can tell, both PCs have the same settings the only difference being Win 11 vs. Win 10.
Difficult for me to tell whether this is a Windows issue, a T/V issue, or some interaction between the two. And I now will not have physical access to either until the end of the week.

BTW, this was not a TV issue. I had to set the Windows sleep timer for 2 hours (in my case) as TV seems to be generally unavailable even if the remote PC is running but not if it is sleeping. Both Win11 PCs now behave.
Thanks for your help... I am learning as I go!
